In parapsychology, the word clairvoyance is used purely to explain information - in the present time and not really readily accessible to the actual clairvoyant - received from an external source, as opposed to telepathy, where information is transferred from one mind to a new. In other words, a clairvoyant has the ability to see or visualise events, things or persons away from capability or range of physical sight.
Distant viewing, usually a controlled, specific process, can be a facet of voyance amour gratuite, as is clairvoyant dreaming. For instance, you might dream about a location they've got never seen before and later find it is exactly as they had visualised it within their dream.
This became of me, for example, once i was about to start my personal first term at school. As I had never visited the city where the college was located, my pops offered to take me there in order to find the way from the train station for the college. Having dreamt about it the night just before we went, I had been able to lead him to the college along the shortest path possible, knowing exactly where and when to turn. I used to be even able to simply tell him how long it would get us to get there.
However, outside of the industry of parapsychology the term is frequently used to describe other kinds of paranormal, or anomalous, perception. Most of the time, it is used in relation to the perception of previous (retro cognition) or even future (precognition) events. It is a gift many have got without even realising that. To use another personal experience as an example (and I do not claim to be a email in any way), a few years ago, any friend's daughter went into hospital at the beginning of the evening to have the woman's first child. Whilst with a group of mutual friends around 10 PM, someone suggested we should phone the hospital and find out exactly how she was making. As one of them picked up the phone, I declared that a call could be wasted, as she would have a little boy during the early hours of the subsequent morning. We called anyway and were advised she was in bed as the labour experienced slowed. My friend said the next morning that her grandson came to be at 5:30 AM.
Frequently, mediums will also refer to the actual perception of images identified during communication with spirits as clairvoyance.
Regardless, clairvoyance is a precious present which can and should supply in order to help and also guide others.
